My path to becoming an attorney has been anything but conventional. Before law school and even before my time as a remodeler, I spent several years working in the medical field. I began as a front desk assistant and eventually became an office manager for chiropractors, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists who treated many tort victims—patients recovering from motor vehicle accidents and other injuries. My responsibilities included managing medical records, applying for insurance benefits, handling medical billing and collections, and even transcribing detailed medical reports. This experience gave me an in-depth understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and the healthcare system’s intricacies—knowledge I now use to help clients navigate their injuries and medical claims.
After my time in the medical field, I spent several years working in a luxury residential building as a handyman and assistant building manager, and eventually became a professional remodeler and general contractor for almost a decade, owning and operating my own company, Ritz Renovation, Inc. This chapter of my life equipped me with invaluable skills in project management, problem-solving, and logistics. I learned to organize complex systems, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines. Whether it was maintaining meticulous order on job sites or handling office operations like contracts, invoices, and permits, I developed a disciplined approach to balancing structure and adaptability. These skills, coupled with my legal background, give me a unique perspective and unmatched edge when dealing with property damage cases.
While studying at the University of Miami School of Law, I took every opportunity to sharpen my advocacy skills. I participated in a rigorous year-long litigation skills course that prepared me for the courtroom. My co-counsel and I won a mock jury trial as criminal defense attorneys, solidifying my ability to build compelling cases and argue persuasively. In addition to developing my litigation skills, I refined my writing abilities and earned the Dean's Academic Achievement Award for my thesis paper. As a practicing attorney, I’ve successfully handled cases in New York Supreme Court, New York Civil Court, and administrative hearings at the Department of Buildings and Department of Labor, gaining hands-on experience that reinforces my commitment to justice.
My journey has uniquely positioned me to understand the full scope of what my clients face after an injury. I know the medical and legal sides of personal injury cases, and I’ve spent my life solving problems, managing complex processes, and advocating for others. Now, as an attorney, I bring all of this experience together to fight for my clients with compassion, tenacity, and a deep understanding of what it takes to achieve the best possible outcome.
